Financial Advice Halifax - Richard Fewell
Richard Fewell, CPA, CMA, CFA, CBV, CFP
Over a 35-year career, Richard has worked in many fields, including wealth management, taxation, business banking, accounting and business brokerage. His career began with a stint in the Alberta oil patch where he worked in accounting for an oil-field equipment company. After a stint with Canada Revenue Agency as a business auditor he moved to Halifax to pursue an MBA in Finance and hopefully a new career in the financial world. A job offer from RBC led him to gain some solid experience as a Corporate Banker but he ultimately chose investment management as a ‘greener pasture’ and after gaining the Chartered Financial analyst designation he landed a job as a Portfolio Manager with a national investment counsel firm. A 15 year run analyzing stocks and managing investment accounts ensued.
Since leaving the investment world, Richard has worked as a certified financial advisor, controller at several businesses, done personal, corporate and trust tax work and also been involved in several business start-ups in the craft beer industry and has helped many owners with the successful sale of their business while a partner in a business brokerage firm. This background and experience have given him a lot of insight into the unique challenges and needs of business owners and how important the success of the business is to their financial future. To complement his business experience, Richard has obtained the highest level of training in 4 professional fields - accounting, business valuation, financial analysis and financial advice.
When some time away from business matters allows, Richard enjoys a game of golf, cooking for friends and family, travel to interesting destinations and a good walk with his trust four legged friend Pedro.
Richard looks forward to working with Nova Scotia and Halifax business owners to help enhance their personal and business financial health.
